Welcome to Saltpig. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Saltpig mobile app, the saltpig.app website, and any related services we provide (together, the "Service"). The Service is operated by Data-Monti LLC, a Texas limited liability company doing business as EasyModeOnly ("Saltpig", "we", "us", or "our").

Please read these Terms carefully. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

A short, plain-language summary appears at the top of each section. The summary is provided for convenience only; the full text controls in case of conflict.

1. Who can use Saltpig

Short version: You need to be at least 13 to use Saltpig, and at least 18 to make in-app purchases or earn money as a creator.

  • You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
  • You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to make in-app purchases, subscribe to Saltpig Pro, accept gifts of a paid subscription, or earn revenue as a creator.
  • If you are between 13 and 18, a parent or legal guardian must agree to these Terms on your behalf and is responsible for your use of the Service.
  • You must provide accurate signup information and keep your account credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • One person, one account. You may not share or transfer your account.

2. Your content

Short version: Your recipes, photos, and tips are yours. By posting them, you give us permission to host, display, and share them inside Saltpig so the app can work.

"Your Content" means anything you submit to the Service, including recipes you upload or create, photos of finished dishes ("cook photos"), notes, tips, comments, profile information, and any other material you post or share.

  • Ownership. You retain ownership of Your Content.
  • License to Saltpig. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, modify (only for technical purposes such as resizing or format conversion), publicly display, publicly perform, distribute, and create derivative works of Your Content solely for the purpose of operating, providing, improving, and promoting the Service and for displaying it to other users in accordance with the privacy settings you choose. This license terminates a reasonable time after you delete Your Content, except where retention is required by law or by Section 7 (Account Termination).
  • Public vs. shared content. Some content may be public, friends-only, or private depending on your settings. Privacy settings are described in the Privacy Policy.
  • Representations. You represent that you own Your Content or have all rights necessary to grant the license above, and that Your Content does not infringe anyone else's rights or violate any law.

3. Creator attribution and DMCA

Short version: If someone claims a recipe is theirs, we have a process. If you think we're hosting your content without permission, you can file a DMCA notice.

  • Creator claims. Saltpig supports verified creator profiles. If you believe a recipe or other content attributed to another user (or to no one) is actually yours, you may submit a claim through the in-app reporting tool or by emailing hello@easymodeonly.com. We review claims in good faith and may transfer attribution, remove content, or take no action depending on what we find.

  • DMCA notices. If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent:

    Your notice must include: (a) a signature of the copyright owner or authorized agent; (b) identification of the copyrighted work; (c) identification of the material that is allegedly infringing and where it appears on the Service; (d) your contact information; (e) a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized; and (f) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and you are authorized to act.

  • Counter-notices. If your content is removed and you believe the removal was a mistake, you may file a counter-notice meeting the requirements of 17 U.S.C. § 512(g).

  • Repeat infringers. We may terminate accounts of users who repeatedly infringe others' rights.

4. Prohibited conduct

Short version: Don't be a jerk, don't break the law, and don't scrape the app.

You agree not to:

  • harass, threaten, abuse, defame, or impersonate any person, including other users or Saltpig creators;
  • post content that is unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit, or that exploits minors;
  • use the Service to send spam, chain messages, or unsolicited commercial communications;
  • scrape, crawl, or otherwise extract data from the Service by automated means, except as expressly permitted by us in writing;
  • reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to access non-public APIs except as expressly permitted by law;
  • circumvent rate limits, paywalls, or other access controls;
  • use Your Content or other users' content for commercial purposes outside the Service without permission from the rights holder;
  • interfere with the operation of the Service, including by introducing malware, conducting denial-of-service attacks, or probing for vulnerabilities without authorization.

5. AI-generated content disclaimer

Short version: Some features in Saltpig are powered by AI. Treat their output as suggestions, not professional advice.

Saltpig uses automated systems (including machine-learning models and large language models, together "AI Features") to provide features such as recipe categorization, cook-time estimation, ingredient substitution suggestions, and nutritional analysis. AI Features:

  • may produce inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading results;
  • are not a substitute for professional advice from a registered dietitian, nutritionist, doctor, or food-safety expert;
  • should not be relied on for decisions that affect your health, the health of others, or food safety.

Always use your own judgment, and consult a qualified professional for medical, dietary, or food-safety questions.

6. Food safety, allergens, and user-generated tips

Short version: Cooking involves risk. Saltpig content (including tips from other users) is not vetted by professionals. You're responsible for safe practices and for checking allergens.

  • Recipes, cook tips, and substitution suggestions on Saltpig are largely user-generated. We do not independently verify them for accuracy, safety, or suitability.
  • Allergen tags (such as "contains nuts" or "gluten-free") are best-effort and are not a substitute for reading every ingredient and contacting the recipe author or product manufacturer.
  • You are solely responsible for following safe food-handling, cooking, and storage practices.
  • We disclaim, to the maximum extent permitted by law, all liability for personal injury, illness, or property damage arising from your use of any recipe, tip, or other content on the Service.

7. Account termination

Short version: You can delete your account anytime. We can also terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

  • By you. You may delete your account at any time from Settings. After deletion, your account is disabled immediately and your Content is removed from public surfaces within a reasonable period. Some data may be retained as described in the Privacy Policy (for example, to satisfy legal obligations or to retain records of completed transactions).
  • By us. We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if (a) you breach these Terms; (b) we are required to do so by law; or (c) we discontinue the Service or a feature you depend on. We will give reasonable advance notice where practicable.
  • Effect of termination. On termination, your right to use the Service ends. Sections 2 (license to existing copies), 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 13 survive termination.

8. Subscriptions, in-app purchases, and gifting

Short version: Saltpig Pro is a paid subscription. Apple or Google bills you and handles refunds. Auto-renewal is on by default. Gifted subscriptions are non-refundable once redeemed.

  • Saltpig Pro is an optional paid subscription that unlocks additional features. Pricing and features are described in the app at the time of purchase.
  • Billing. Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) under their respective terms. Saltpig does not have access to your payment information.
  • Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel through the App Store or Google Play before the renewal date.
  • Refunds. Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google according to their policies. We are generally unable to issue refunds directly.
  • Free tier. Free-tier limits are described in the app and may change with notice.
  • Pay-It-Forward gifting. If you receive a Saltpig Pro subscription as a gift, the benefits begin when you redeem the gift and end at the term's expiration. Gifts are non-refundable once redeemed and cannot be exchanged for cash or other gifts.
  • No service-level guarantee. We do not promise any specific uptime for the free tier. For Saltpig Pro, we will use commercially reasonable efforts to keep the Service available.

9. Intellectual property of Saltpig

Short version: Our logos, app, and brand are ours. We grant you a personal license to use the app, nothing more.

  • The Service, including its software, design, logos, branding (including the "Saltpig" and "Sal T. Pig" names and marks), and all other content other than Your Content, is owned by Data-Monti LLC or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws.
  • We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. No other rights are granted.

10. Disclaimers

Short version: The Service is provided "as is." We don't promise it will always work or be error-free.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE, RELIABLE, OR SAFE.

11. Limitation of liability

Short version: If something goes wrong, our liability is limited.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

  • IN NO EVENT WILL DATA-MONTI LLC, ITS AFFILIATES, OR ITS LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
  • OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) US$50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the smallest amount permitted by law.

12. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes what we collect, how we use it, and your data rights. By using the Service you acknowledge the Privacy Policy.

13. Dispute resolution and governing law

Short version: These Terms are governed by Texas law, and disputes go to Texas courts.

  • These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or the Service are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
  • You and Saltpig agree that any dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Harris County, Texas, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
  • Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking injunctive or equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.

14. Changes to these Terms

Short version: We can change these Terms. If the change is material, we'll ask you to accept again.

  • We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always available at https://saltpig.app/terms.
  • Material changes (for example, changes to your content license, to dispute resolution, to subscription terms, or to liability limits) require a new acceptance. We will prompt you to review and accept the new version inside the app.
  • Cosmetic changes (such as typo fixes, formatting, or clarifications that do not change your rights or obligations) do not require re-acceptance.
  • Versioning follows semantic conventions (1.0.0, 1.1.0, etc.). Material changes increment the minor or major version; cosmetic changes increment the patch version and do not trigger re-acceptance.

15. Miscellaneous

  • Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Saltpig regarding the Service.
  • Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
  • No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver.
  • Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
